Amélie Vrla is a writer, certified death doula & grief companion (BVT – Björn Schulz Stiftung, Berlin). As such, she accompanies grief and loss through creative and embodied practises like writing, collage, tailor-made rituals, family constellation, genogramm, role play, tincture making, spiritual resources (visualisations, animal and plant spirit guides) and different somatic resources (EFT tapping, Reiki …).
Working with individuals and couples in one-on-one sessions, she acts as a grief companion after the death of a loved one, and supports patients in navigating the complex question of parenthood (miscarriage, stillbirth, but also abortion, ambivalence, IVF, renouncing parenthood or dealing with infertility). She also accompanies the deep process of grieving parts of one’s self, family ties, lineage, friendships and relationships…
Together with Erin Lang and Shannon Turner, Amélie Vrla is the co-founder of the collective Nightwashers, a trio offering creative practices that explore death and transitional experiences. Inspired by mythic midnight washerwomen, they gather at the thresholds of life, opening space for loss and grief to be witnessed and potentially transformed through collective making, writing, ritual, sound, music, and reflection.
